Group 1-winning jockey Hayley Turner was second in a Doncaster handicap Saturday in the final ride of her career in Britain. Turner is considered British racing’s most successful female jockey, and her mounts have included joint 2-year-old champion Dream Ahead (Diktat {GB})–on who she became the first female to win a Group 1 outright in the G1 July Cup–and Group 1-winning sprinter Margot Did (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}). The 32-year-old, who was also the first female jockey in Britain to ride 100 winners in a year, which she accomplished in 2007, rode competitively for 15 years.

Turner goes to South Africa Monday for the International Jockeys Challenge, according to Racing Post.
